Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to some of the most common questions about becoming a Craft Loft franchise partner. When you are ready for the next step, click on What’s Next?

About the Crafting industry

People have been crafting and creating since the earliest days of human civilization. It’s a timeless form of expression, problem-solving, and connection. The arts and crafts market continues to grow, fueled by the need for creativity, personalization, and meaningful experiences. With strong market trends and a history that spans centuries, crafting is here to stay.

Big-box retailers sell supplies, but crafting is more than materials — it’s an experience. It thrives in a social setting where people can share ideas, make connections, and enjoy each other’s company. In an era dominated by online shopping and digital interaction, an in-person creative studio offers something that cannot be replicated by automation or AI. Craft Loft provides a space for genuine connection, friendship, and hands-on creativity.

About Craft Loft

The concept, processes, and philosophy behind Craft Loft have been developed by our founder for over 30 years. In addition to a successful career in tech and business, Ms. Gouldstone is a Master Gardener, Master Crafter, Origamist, and trained florist. This wealth of expertise has shaped a unique, diverse menu of offerings. Combined with the post-COVID demand for in-person, social activities, Craft Loft is positioned for growth. There has never been a better time to bring people together and become a creative hub in your community.

Craft Loft typically attracts:

  • Female professionals looking for fulfilling hobbies to share with friends and family

  • Young couples seeking fun, unique activities beyond dinner and movies

  • Tweens, teens, and college students interested in creating accessories and decor that reflect their style

  • Local business administrators seeking fresh, engaging team-building options beyond food and drink

Craft Loft is currently franchising in major cities and townships in the eastern half of the United States.

Our most successful franchise partners are outgoing, people-oriented individuals with experience in sales, events, HR, or customer service. They are comfortable engaging with guests of all ages and are physically active enough to be hands-on in a busy, creative environment.

The Investment

The estimated initial investment ranges from $100,875 to $175,500, which includes a $30,000 franchise fee. This covers expenses such as leasehold improvements, equipment, inventory, training, and initial marketing.

Craft Loft charges a 6% royalty fee on gross sales, plus a 3% required local marketing spend to help drive awareness and customer traffic in your territory.

Operations

We recommend 2,500 to 4,000 square feet for a Craft Loft location. Our floor plans are designed to balance retail displays, workshop areas, and storage in a way that promotes easy navigation, product discovery, and safety for guests.

Most locations operate with 4 to 8 employees, depending on business hours and seasonal demand.
